Trophle never needs your location. The archive map shows where puzzle subjects live or where ecological stories occur—not where you are.
Quick answers
Do I need an account?
Not in the iOS app—it has no Trophle account. The separate website offers optional sign-in for web archive samples, saved web plays, and website purchases.
Where is anonymous progress saved?
Daily results, streaks, and preferences are stored in the browser or on the device. Clearing browser data or removing the app may erase them.
Why did my streak reset?
Anonymous streaks depend on local storage and the last recorded play date. Browser clearing, app removal, device changes, or date-setting changes can interrupt them.
Does the map track me?
No. Trophle does not request device location. The map’s points belong to puzzle subjects and ecological stories.
How do reminders work?
On iOS, reminders are optional and scheduled locally after you grant notification permission. Check iOS Settings if a reminder is not appearing.
How do I delete an account?
Only the website has a Trophle account. Email us from that account address. The iOS app has no developer account; removing the app normally removes its local Trophle records.
Sign-in help
Trophle uses a passwordless link sent to your email address. Check spam or filtered folders, confirm the address was entered correctly, and open the newest link on the device and browser where you want to use Trophle. Treat sign-in links as private. If an older link has expired, request a new one.
Archive purchases
Website archive purchases are processed by Stripe and must be associated with the signed-in Trophle account used at checkout. If access does not appear, sign out and back in, then contact us from the purchasing email address with the transaction date. Do not email full card or bank details.
Apple processes iOS archive purchases. Use the app’s restore control while signed in to the Apple Account that made the purchase. Apple handles App Store refund requests.
The two purchases are separate: website archive access does not unlock the iOS app, and an App Store purchase does not unlock the website archive.
Account and privacy requests
To request access to or deletion of a current Trophle web account, email us from the account’s address with “Trophle account deletion” in the subject. Deletion removes the account and associated game records that we are not legally required to keep. It does not automatically refund a completed purchase.
Before reporting a puzzle or technical problem

- Reload the page or fully close and reopen the app.
- For sign-in, archive, or puzzle downloads, confirm that the device has an internet connection.
- Include the puzzle date, the exact error, and the steps that produced it.
- For a science correction, include the affected step and a reliable source if you have one.
- Do not send passwords, sign-in links, full payment-card details, or private information unrelated to the problem.
